In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps of making Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Potatoes, providing tips and tricks along the way to help you get the most out of this delicious recipe.
To make Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Potatoes, you’ll need:
Marinade for steak :
Sirloin Steak: When marinated and sautéed, this is a great cut of meat that stays tender. Tenderloin can also be used to make these steak bites.
Soy Sauce: To control how much salt is added, I always use a low-sodium variety.
Olive Oil: You can use any kind of vegetable oil, but I like how olive oil makes meat taste.
Sriracha: A small amount is used to add a bit of heat, but you can leave it out if you prefer.
Potatoes :
Baby Potatoes: You can’t go wrong with baby Yukon gold potatoes. But any small potato will do.
Olive Oil: I like olive oil, but you can use any vegetable oil you want.
Garlic: For the best taste, you should always use fresh garlic cloves. If the store-bought minced garlic has been open for too long, it may taste bitter.
Italian Seasonings: Basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, and marjoram make up this dried herb mix. If you don’t have Italian seasoning, use what you have or make your own with my recipe.
Salt: Enhances the potatoes’ natural flavor.
Black Pepper: Used in addition to the salt to season the potatoes. You can use freshly ground black pepper or regular ground pepper.
How To Make Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Potatoes
This is the best steak recipe for a quick meal that can be made in less than 30 minutes. All you have to do is boil the potatoes and brown the meat. Easy as pie, and dinner is ready in no time!
Marinate The Steak :
The first step of this recipe is to put a tasty marinade on the meat. So, in a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, olive oil, and Sriracha together. Then add the meat cubes and set them aside while you cook the potatoes.
Cook The Potatoes :
While the steak is marinating, start cooking the potatoes. To do this, put the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet and heat it over medium-high heat. Next, add the potatoes and cook them for about 8 minutes, or until they are nicely browned and soft enough to pierce with a fork. You can do this in batches if your pan is small. The potatoes should be put on a plate and set aside for now.
Grill the steak :
Since you’ll be cooking the steak in the same pan, go ahead and add the rest of the butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Then, cook the mixture for 30 seconds, or until it smells good. Next, spread out the steak pieces in a single layer in the pan. Save any leftover marinade. Now, cook the meat over medium-high heat for one minute without touching it, then flip it and cook it for one more minute.
Add the potatoes, and you’re done :
After searing the meat cubes, pour the marinade you saved over the steak and cook for another minute. Then, put the potatoes back into the pan with the meat and cook until the potatoes are warm. Last, try the dish and add salt and pepper if it needs it.
Serve and have fun.
When the steak and potatoes with garlic butter are done, put them in a dish of your choice and top them with chopped fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese, if you like. Then, serve it with a salad or a green vegetable like my Roasted Brussels Sprouts to make it a full meal.

Notes
- Use both the oil and the butter. Make sure to mix the butter with the olive oil. By doing this, the milk solids in the butter won’t burn and turn bitter.
- Cook the potatoes in their own pots. You have to cook the potatoes first not only because they take longer to cook, but also because the meat needs that time to marinate.
- Don’t cook the meat too much. If you like your meat well done, go for it and cook away! But if you don’t, make sure to only cook each side of the sirloin pieces for a few minutes.
- When stored in an airtight container or freezer bag, leftovers can stay in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
- To heat them up again, just put them in the microwave on medium heat for about 3 minutes. If you prefer, you can also heat them up in a skillet. If the leftovers were frozen, put them in the fridge overnight to thaw. The next day, heat them in the oven at 350°F (176°C) for about 15 minutes.

Tips and Tricks :
Make sure to use a big pan to cook the steak bites so that they can all cook at the same rate.
For the best steak bites, use a cast-iron pan to cook them. Cast iron heats up evenly and keeps heat well, so it’s a great material for cooking steak.
Don’t cook the steak bites for too long! The outside should be browned, but the middle should still be pink.
You can also use other kinds of potatoes in this recipe, like red or yellow potatoes. Just make sure to change the cooking time based on how big your potatoes are.
