Instructions
Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a non-stick baking mat.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or using a hand-held mixer, beat the butter, cream cheese, sugar, and honey on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy.
Add Egg & Vanilla: Add in the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Reduce the speed to low and gradually mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
Shape & Bake: Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet. Optionally, press a few extra chocolate chips on top for a bakery-style look.
Bake: Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges start to set and turn golden brown.
Cool & Enjoy: Remove from the oven and let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy warm or store for later!
Notes
- Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure the butter, cream cheese, and egg are at room temperature for a smooth dough consistency.
- Chill for Thicker Cookies: If you prefer thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Mixing Tip: Avoid overmixing once the flour is added to prevent dense cookies.
- Measuring Flour: Use the spoon and level method to measure flour accurately—too much flour can make cookies dry.
- Enhance the Flavor: A pinch of sea salt on top before baking enhances the chocolatey taste.
